Vision Fragments

16 years ago, Stockmans and Franky Claeys got together to create a unique and fashionable calendar project called Vision Fragments… discover a collector’s item.

This fascinating project enables us to achieve a collective symbiosis with various creative individuals. The ultimate result is Vision Fragments.

Style, traditional printing methods, know-how, graphic design, a love of ink and paper, fashion fragments, a contemporary spirit.

This 9th edition of your favourite creative calendar project is the successor to last year’s cooperation between Stockmans Calendar Lab and London-based fashion photographer Jean-François Carly.

Icons. What once started as a purely sacred, religious work of art, shifted over the decades to more secular objects and persons; now widely dispersed in our 21st century pop culture. From the 6th century’s Christ Pantocrator at Mount Sinai Saint Catherine’s Monastery, to Napoleon Bonaparte, Ernesto “Che” Guevara and Britney Spears.

Tattoos. Although it’s a highly personal statement loaded full of symbolism, at the same time it represents your membership of a certain community. Not only for grey-bearded sailors, circus freaks and Yakuza but also for the old-school European royal families, who were proudly inked with the Jerusalem Cross and protective dragons. From the 5,000-year-old ice man Ötzi to Winston Churchill all the way to Angelina Jolie’s massive Bengal tiger on her lower back.
